AARP Internship

Work Placement

AARP hosts interns throughout the year, with a defined summer program. We offer in-person and virtual programming to allow you to connect with fellow interns across the country, participate in learning and development opportunities, and attend leadership speaker series and AARP program spotlights.

Bridge to Employment for Women (BEW)

Mentorship

The Bridges Employment Program (BEP) is a four-month group-based program designed for women who self-identify as having experienced trauma, violence, abuse or neglect, and who want to reclaim their lives. Through intentional curriculum and skilled facilitators, participants explore a range of personal and professional development topics.

These include understanding the impacts of abuse on employability and relationships, creating personal safety, developing a vision for the future, building essential skills needed for safe and healthy relationships, self-care, career exploration, job search strategies and more. The program also incorporates volunteering, group mentoring and local connections by bringing in guest speakers, local employers, and important community services.

Workforce Pathways for Women in Senior Care Program (WP4W)

Mentorship

Are you an immigrant newcomer woman currently without work or in temporary jobs? Workforce Pathways for Women is a FREE employment program that can prepare and support you in securing a high-demand job.

The program offers a solution to upskill and place immigrant and racialized women in the Greater Toronto Area into sustainable careers in the senior care sector.

Program highlights:

4 weeks of online skills training, one-to-one coaching, guidance and mentoring
Coaches that facilitate the transition to direct employment with dedicated employer partners
Job onboarding support to ensure the success of long-term employment in facilities such as retirement homes, home healthcare agencies, palliative care and assisted living communities for seniors

BC Older Workers 55+

Work Placement

Mature workers aged 55+ achieve sustainable employment through a 3-week intensive office administration and customer service occupational skills training, and one-to-one job search coaching.

Networking + Mentorship

The Women4Climate (W4C) program empowers professional women and gender-diverse leaders to take action on urban climate initiatives that align with climate policy targets and cut emissions.
